ISI STEEL provides more police booths for the betterment of road safety

ISI STEEL has previously provided 15 police booths beginning from 2017 after observing a poignant need for road safety to be implemented among major roads. This has allowed for seamless enforcement for authorities as they work hard to make sure that the laws of traffic safety are properly practiced as the booths serve as temporary shelter during tough and volatile weather conditions that may otherwise impact the speed of enforcement. As of August 22, 2018, ISI STEEL provided an additional 22 police booths along more major roads and boulevards, as well as an additional 13 police booths along provincial roads in the following provinces; Sihanoukville, Siem Reap, Battambang, Kampong Thom, and Kampong Speu.

In total, the company has generously provided up to 50 police booths.

“In our 21 years of being operational, ISI STEEL has generously given back to society through a series of initiatives through the KHM Foundation. These police booths are intended to decrease traffic accidents through the stringent enforcement of the law. Furthermore, these booths are aesthetically pleasing and built with high quality materials as we only used products from ISI STEEL and ISI PALM,” stated Mr. Sok Vichet, the Chief Commercial Officer of ISI STEEL.

Mr. Sem Kunthea, the Chief Police Officer, stated that difficulties regarding unpredictable weather patterns have hindered implementation due to unforeseen conditions and the negative effects of the hot weather. He further stated that these police booths have been observed to lessen the burden of withstanding harsh weather conditions and allow for a tougher enforcement of public and traffic safety.

The materials used in the production of these police booths are of the highest quality and are at the forefront of construction materials courtesy of ISI STEEL. These materials meet stringent standards of quality and are ISO certified through ISO 9001:2015, as well as Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) and Australian Standards (AS). Solar panels can also be found on the roof of these police booths as a source of renewable energy to furthermore lessen the difficulties of enforcement.

This is not ISI STEEL’s first involvement in the betterment of society. Through the KMH Foundation, support has been extended towards the country’s youth through a series of initiatives that tackle monetary support towards Kuntha Bopha Hospital, the Red Cross, as well as structural improvements in roofing and additional infrastructure towards the Cambodian Children’s Fund (CCF).
